WHAT

What is this 'The Karlie Awards™' you've been hearing so much about? Anyone who's been to the Karlies will be quick to tell you "It's just... The Karlies®!". And while that is a completely satisfactory answer since the Karlies are an enigma wrapped in a mystery, the answer often leaves many Karlie Awards Rookies® wondering just what they're in for.

The Karlie Awards™ (like the Golden Globes or the Academy Awards, except less stuffy and with better awards like "Celebrity Look-alike", "Best Arrival", and "Dance-Off").

Deck yourself out, walk the red carpet to get in, pretend you're famous, dance, down discounted drinks, and of course--win awards, statuette and all!

Get that tux or gown in your closet aired out, and make all necessary waxing and manicure appointments now or the shutterbugs will snap you looking hairy and in last season's Chanel and plaster it all over US Weekly!

HOW much will this cost me? And HOW can I possibly get on the not-so-exclusive guest list?

$10 cover - Appetizers will be provided.
Your generous donation helps the Committee cover the cost of venue rental and catering and completing their ultimate collection of Garbage Pail Kids cards (you gotta have dreams, right?).

You can get on the Guest List by either:
* Clicking on the big orange button near the top of the page that says "I'm New To This Site" and fill out the sign up form, then click the "Sign Me Up!" button.
* Contacting any member of the Karlies Committee here.
* Or by simply showing up at the Red Carpet events with someone who is on the Guest List.

Gee whiz, what/who do I wear to the 2008 Karlie Awards?

Anything/anyone you want! It's the Karlie Awards, creativity is the norm, not the exception!

Check out the picture galleries from past Karlie Awards for inspiration/a glimpse of the 'outfits' that were experienced last year.

You could even win a Karlie for Best Dressed... If that's not motivation, then I don't know what is.

WHO will be there?

Well for starters, YOU'LL be there. And since we all know that you're the coolest, raddest, niftiest person around, that should be enough to entice you. If not, rest assured that plenty of other cool, rad, nifty people will be there (although they obviously don't hold a candle to you!

There's also a rumor floating around that Absolute Zero will be taking time off from their busy touring schedule to make a guest appearance. That's right people, your favorite boy band and ours, Absolute Zero!! We're crossing any appendages that can be crossed, you should too.

WHY does the party have to end when all the Awards are gone?

It doesn't! The Suburban World Theater is conveniently located in the heart of Uptown. A short, brisk walk (you gotta earn it) will get you to Williams or The Independent or whatever watering hole tickles your fancy.
